Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is in Sofia and will meet with Prime Minister Kiril Petkov and members of the government on April 19. Kuleba arrived in Bulgaria by car from Romania.

During the night, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Twitter that he had discussed with the Bulgarian prime minister the problems with shipping in the Black Sea. This is another conversation between the two in which Petkov reaffirmed his support for Ukraine. Zelensky thanked in the announcement for the reception of Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria and for the Bulgarian support for Ukraine's EU membership.

French President Emmanuel Macron and US President Joe Biden will meet with the leaders of Germany, Great Britain, Canada, Italy, Poland and Romania. The forum will be attended by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel. They will discuss the new Russian offensive in Donbass, the French television channel BFMTV reported, citing sources at the Elysee Palace.
