Hungary voiced readiness to support Bulgaria’s efforts against the adoption of the Mobility 1 package. The issue was discussed at the meeting between Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó within the frameworks of his visit to Bulgaria. Minister Szijjártó also noted that Hungary is interested in using natural gas from the extension of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline via Bulgaria and Serbia, if the project is fulfilled. Péter Szijjártó also met with Bulgaria’s Minister of Interior Mladen Marinov. Ministers Szijjártó and Marinov discussed the topical migration situation in the EU. Mladen Marinov and Péter Szijjártó agreed that the EU countries must monitor carefully all migrant routes despite the recent decline of the migration pressure towards the European Union.
