MPs introduce 'national resort' criteria

Parliament has adopted, in first reading, amendments to the Tourism Act that regulate the criteria for the designation of National Resorts. The designation will be made by a decision of the Council of Ministers on the proposal of the Minister of Tourism.

National Resorts will be required to: have tourist attractions and sites; offer tourist products; be recognised as tourist destinations offering complementary tourist services; have effective public order and medical services and a pharmacy in the municipality; have technical, information and tourist infrastructure; offer a range of tourist services in a wide range of price levels; have transport links to and from settlements with an international airport, bus station or railway station.
