Caretaker Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev expressed optimism about the winter season, saying he expects a 5% increase in the number of tourist visits. “If all goes well and the if the weather is with us,” he added.

1.3 million tourists are expected to land at Sofia airport on over 9,000 flights.

The big news is that the concession-holder of Sofia Airport announced zero prices for the new parking lot during the winter, Minister Miloshev said and added that this is an additional reduction making the cost of the travel packages for the skiing season more competitive. A police ski patrol will ensure security on the ski tracks.

At a meeting with representatives of the institutions involved with the winter season at the winter resort of Borovets it was announced that the cost of the ski services in Borovets will go up by 10% as of 15 December due to the revocation of the differentiated VAT as of next year.
