The exhibition draws attention to sites marked by destruction in Bulgaria using sculpture, installation, sound and film. It will open on 1 August at the venue of the Swimming Pool project in the capital, organizers said. To this end, the Off-Site Curatorial Collective invites artists Nicolás Kisic Aguirre Nicolás Kisic Aguirre ( Peru), Katarina Burin (Slovakia/USA), Sam Ghantous (Oman/Switzerland), Elitsa Koeva and Manar Moursi (Egypt/Canada) to connect with specific places in Bulgaria. The artists gathered materials together with local people and used them to create their works.
This exhibition is part of a series of initiatives led by Off-site, a research collective co-founded in 2020 by Borislav Angelov, Pauline Shongov and Maya Shopov.
