Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev refuses to apply the texts of the Constitution that define the role of the head of state as a mediator and balancer, the co-chairman of the PP-DB Hristo Ivanov told BNR on the occasion of the case with the possible change of ministers in the caretaker cabinet. In his words, the head of state should consult the other political forces before making such reshuffles.
Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev insisted that the president should sign decrees to replace two ministers - the ones of foreign affairs and agriculture.
Hristo Ivanov expressed doubts whether Dimitar Glavchev would be able to return as chairman of the Court of Auditors when the caretaker government ceases to exist, as his actions have shown an "inability to be independent".
Again on the air of BNR, the leader of Vazrazhdane party Kostadin Kostadinov commented that the idea of the prime minister to head the foreign ministry as well shows the failure of the caretaker cabinet. Rumen Radev clearly told Dimitar Glavchev, advising him diplomatically to think that this cannot happen," he added.
