"We appreciate and need you" – Radio Bulgaria receives warm support from Bulgarians around the world

After hard work comes the time to celebrate! For those working at the Bulgarian National Radio, this is January 25 - a day of reckoning, professional satisfaction and ...awards. At an official ceremony tomorrow evening, we will find out who will receive the statuette of Sirak Skitnik - one of the most prestigious journalistic distinctions in Bulgaria presented by the Bulgarian National Radio. Radio Bulgaria has three nominations for this year's awards.

But for us, the journalists of the multilingual service of the public radio, the greatest reward is the trust and love of our numerous friends from all corners of the world.

On the occasion of our professional holiday, loyal listeners and users of Radio Bulgaria contacted us to support us and express their gratitude for having us.

Watch the video:

"Thank you to Radio Bulgaria for telling stories about all the Bulgarians abroad who are active, love Bulgaria and try to preserve our culture and traditions outside the Bulgarian borders," says Maria Samichkova, spokesperson of the Bulgarian Association in Nevada, USA, in a video address and adds:

Maria Samichkova
"As a Bulgarian living abroad, I cannot fail to thank you for covering all our initiatives, such as the Culture and Arts Festival in May. You are always the first to tell about our activities related to culture, science, about our schools. And here in Vegas we have two Sunday schools and a new theater troupe for the youngest talents - "Dwarves in Drawers". I wish you in 2024 to continue to create and inspire. And to remain the most professional and positive media in Bulgaria. We are grateful for having you!"

According to Veneta Nenkova, culturologist, journalist and head of the Bulgarian Sunday School "Ilia and Assen Peikov" in Rome, journalists from Radio Bulgaria protect the public nature of the media in which they work with exceptional professionalism. Because:
Veneta Nenkova
"Being a journalist does not mean being an intermediary in the transmission of information. A good journalist is a researcher, an artist, a poet, a seeker of spiritual values and an educator. All these things are represented by the colleagues from Radio Bulgaria. And I sincerely hope the cooperation of your media with the Bulgarian communities will not stop because this is our living connection with our homeland, which we love, respect and hold deep in our hearts."

A mirror of Bulgarians abroad and a vital barometer of the Bulgarian diaspora beyond borders - this is how the principal of the Bulgarian school "Vasil Levski" in Saarbrucken, Germany, Evelina Avramova, who is also the spokesperson of the Association of Bulgarian Schools Abroad, defines Radio Bulgaria. And more:

Evelina Avramova
"Through you we experience every Bulgarian joy, through you we learn much more about each other, we manage to measure our successes. Thank you for your professional work and for everything you have done so far. And it is a lot! Looking at the work only from the recordings which you have realized with Bulgarian schools abroad - it really turns out to be a lot! And all this is delivered with such tact, moderation and professionalism! We love you, appreciate you and we need you!"

Radio Bulgaria was also contacted by Elka Rouskov, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Washington and co-chair of the Bulgarian Center for Culture and Heritage in Seattle, USA with the following message:

Elka Rouskov
"I want to congratulate the team of Radio Bulgaria for the current news, the professionalism, the enthusiasm which they have been giving us, especially during the last year of working together. Through you, the Bulgarian community in Seattle is informed in the fastest way about the latest events related with the life of the Bulgarian diasporas around the world and in our homeland. Thank you very much and see you soon for more working meetings!"
