Bulgaria-Saudi Arabia relations are rooted in pragmatism with a vision for the future: Mariya Gabriel

Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel paid a visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. “Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia have traditionally good relations rooted in pragmatism and a vision for the future,” Mariya Gabriel said. She presented Bulgaria as a factor of security in Southeastern Europe and an important regional, innovations, energy and transport hub. In Saudi Arabia, Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel discussed geopolitical issues such as the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. She held meetings with the Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud and Minister of Investment engineer Khalid Al-Falih. The discussions focused on potential investments in energy, transport, digital infrastructure, green technologies and hydrogen. The Bulgarian deputy prime minister congratulated Saudi Arabia on winning the bid to host World Expo 2030.
