After becoming a sensation in less than three years of existence, the Molec Duo are now presenting their debut album. To launch it, on June 29 they kick off their "Album" tour, as they have minimalistically titled their first collection of recordings. The tour will start at the Yunak Park Center in Sofia and continue across the country. It will be directed by Chris Zahariev, who brought awards to the duo's videos and directed the documentary The Beginning and the End.
Christian Makarov and Yuliyan Slavchev are childhood friends, although they started making music together much later. In Bulgarian, the name of their duo is a pun, coming from "one who prays", but actually meaning "clothes moth".
Their messages are strong and multilayered, their words sincere and their vocals wide. Their lyrics are poignant and topical but without crossing the line. Despite the hip-hop and trap elements they use, the overall sound of their music is typically Bulgarian. All of this has quickly made them favorites of several generations.
