The Illinois Senate will vote a resolution on Bulgaria

On March 7, the Illinois Senate will vote on a resolution to declare March 2023 as Bulgarian American Heritage Month, reported BNR correspondent in Chicago Elena Tsaneva. The Senate congratulates the people of the Republic of Bulgaria as they celebrate the 145th anniversary of their liberation on March 3, 2023.

A few days ago, the document was introduced in the Illinois Senate in the state capital city Springfield. A special delegation, which included members of Bulgarian educational societies and organizations, representatives of Bulgarian businesses based in Chicago, as well as the sisters Antoinetta and Diana Stoykov, relatives of the creator of the computer John Atanasoff, were present at the presentation of the document. 
The resolution notes the achievements of the Bulgarians from the old and new emigration waves, who have contributed to the development of thе socio-political and cultural life in the state of Illinois.
