As Commander-in-Chief of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, I firmly oppose sending troops to Ukraine in any form, said President Rumen Radev during a celebration of the 35th anniversary of the establisment of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria.

"I expect the government and the National Assembly to state clearly and unequivocally that Bulgaria will not send troops", said President Radev. "The big issue I raised at the beginning of the war in Ukraine was to prevent Bulgaria from getting involved in it. Today, against the backdrop of the collapsing global security architecture, this issue is even more topical", Rumen Radev pointed out.
