Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev met with his Turkish counterpart Süleyman Soylu in Istanbul. The two ministers discussed short-term measures aimed to increase traffic at the border crossings "Kapitan Andreevo" and "Lesovo". Süleyman Soylu assured that soon there will be technological changes at the two border checkpoints aimed to increase their through-flow capacity.

Ministers Demerdzhiev and Soylu also discussed security along the Bulgaria-Turkey border, which is also an external border of the European Union, as well as the project for the construction of a bridge on Rezovska River.

Negotiations on the supply, transit and purchase of natural gas are progressing very quickly, caretaker Minister of Energy Rosen Hristov said after a meeting with the management of Turkey's Petroleum Pipeline Corporation BOTAŞ on Saturday.
