A beloved tradition is back - the Christmas concert of the Bulgarian National Radio Children's Choir ("Radiodetsa"), the youngest musicians in the "Big House" of the BNR. They have prepared popular and much-loved songs for Christmas, including one first-time performance. We will listen to them on 17 December at 12 pm in Studio 1 of the Bulgarian National Radio.

Ilina Todorova, conductor of the Radio Children choir

"We are happy to be able to invite our fans back to our Christmas concert after a few years break. We have prepared a bouquet of beautiful songs - says Ilina Todorova, founder and conductor of the  Radio Children's Choir. - Special guests in our holiday program will be jazz vocalists Vasil Petrov and Lili Ilieva. We can also boast of the premiere of a new song, which has been waiting for a long time, as the idea of the composer Krasimir Miletkov dates back to two years ago. He is the author of the music, and the arrangement is by Vasil Spasov - one of the best jazz musicians in our country, who collaborates with many of our jazz artists, including Vasil Petrov.

Our Christmas carols include beautiful Bulgarian and American melodies. We've also added a few songs about kindness because we want the children to experience the holiday not only as a time for chocolates and Christmas presents, but also as a time for reflection, a time to think about what we've done for others this year. The children were more than happy to come to rehearsals where they could interact with each other, which I think is most important for them. They are talented kids who need that kind of environment. In recent years, we had a break from participating in the International Arts Festival in Saint-Denis, France, and it was there where they developed their amazing friendship. They were constantly together during the festival days - playing, practicing sports, singing, having fun. Many of them said they came to the rehearsals to take a break from their school obligations. For me, as a conductor, this is the greatest reward. For I see before me talented children who are future doctors, lawyers... They are the future of Bulgaria."

"The young artists are looking forward to the concert," said Mrs. Todorova, "It is very exciting for them to be on stage and to see their classmates, friends, families, as well as dozens of fans of the vocal group and the beautiful children's songs in the audience. I wish the Radio children, our audience and all of us to be healthy and have more holiday moments!"
