Bulgarians in Chicago attend Bulgarian Alphabet Enlightenment and Culture Parade and Celebration

Over 5,000 Bulgarians gathered in Elk Grove Village near Chicago for the third Bulgarian Alphabet Enlightenment and Culture Parade and Celebration. The parade, dedicated to the Day of Bulgarian Alphabet and Culture, began at 12 pm on May 19 with a procession of Bulgarian children. The event continued with an interesting program, children's corner, music and dancing and many activities for the whole family. Nearly 30 Bulgarian schools, kindergartens, cultural centers, folklore groups and patriotic organizations participated in the Bulgarian Alphabet Enlightenment and Culture Parade and Celebration organized by the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Chicago and Elk Grove Village.

The Consul General in Chicago, Svetoslav Stankov, announced that the driver's license test in the state of Illinois will soon be available in Bulgarian.
