Police and prison wardens organized a protest and put up a tent camp in front of the Ministry of Finance building. The protest is organized by the trade union organizations of the Ministry of the Interior and prisons in Bulgaria.
“The protest is not political,” said Ilia Kuzmanov from the trade union of Ministry of Interior employees. “What we do not accept is the incomes policy and the way it is currently being “reformed. We do not believe there is any reform whatsoever.”
The protesters are demanding a 25% increase in salaries, as well as a comprehensive reform at the Interior Ministry. Prime Minister Kiril Petkov and Justice Minister Nadezhda Yordanova met and talked with the participants in the protest.
