Bulgaria's Sliven Municiliaty on its way to become the first in the country with its own power plant

The Municipal Council in the town of Sliven has approved the proposal for the construction of a photovoltaic plant on a plot opf 450 decares of municipal land. The land will be given to a private investor through a public procurement procedure, BNR reported. Thus, Sliven is on its way to being the first municipality in the country with its own power plant. 

The step is being taken to reduce the price of electricity and break the dependence on the electricity market, the mayor of Sliven Stefan Radev said.
