Bulgaria's Regional Development Minister Violeta Komitova did not appear at the agreed meeting with the representatives of the protesting road construction companies. They described this as a mockery and demanded her resignation.

Eng. Georgi Zlatev from the Control Council of the Roads Branch Chamber warned that there was a danger that roads in Bulgaria would remain uncleaned in the winter.

The ministry proposes that the funds owed by the state to road construction companies be paid in a reasonable period ahead through the 2022 and 2023 budgets, Deputy Minister Valentin Gramatikov said.

Gramatikov was adamant that it was impossible to allocate nearly 500,000 euros by the end of 2021 to pay all debts to the road construction and repair industry and there were only 50 million euros allocated for winter cleaning and maintenance.
