Annual gathering of the White Brotherhood takes place in Rila Mountain

Police officers will attend the annual gathering of the followers of the White Brotherhood near the Seven Rila Lakes to preserve public order. The gathering has already begun and will culminate on August 19, reported BNR Blagoevgrad. 

The followers of spiritual leader Peter Deunov believe that the sunrise on this day has magical power and those who greet the sunrise on this place will be filled with energy and will stay healthy for the next 12 months. On this day, they perform the Paneurithmia dance near the Kidney Lake. The dance continues for nearly two hours and the followers of the White Brotherhood are dressed in white.
