Wildfires rage in the Rhodope Mountain for the second consecutive day

Between 40 and 100 hectares of pine and mixed forests have been affected by the two fires that broke out above the village of Yugovo located in the Rhodope Mountains (Laki Municipality). The area has been hit by wildfires for the second consecutive day. 

The wildfires have been spreading quickly, despite the efforts of the firefighting teams. The fire is raging one kilometer away from two mountain villages. A military helicopter Cougar has been pouring water over inaccessible terrains since Friday morning. Mi-8 helicopter joined the firefighting operation in the afternoon hours.
