Bulgaria’s health authorities have identified an outbreak of Covid-19 onboard a cargo ship in the Port of Burgas. The ship with Filipino crew members arrived from the United Arab Emirates in the aquatory of the Bulgarian port on July 14. 20 crew members were placed under quarantine onboard the vessel. 11 crew members tested positive for Covid-19. The merchant ship will be thoroughly disinfected.
One crew member was admitted to a hospital in Burgas on July 14. Unfortunately, the crew member passed away on July 19. Currently a second crew member is in hospital. The cargo ship is expected to leave the Port of Burgas on July, announced the press center of the Ministry of Health.
