USA expects the process of North Macedonia’s European integration to be speeded up

President Rumen Radev and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed, in a telephone conversation, the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the US, the sanctions under the Global Magnitsky Act against Bulgarian individuals and companies, cooperation in the sphere of security and of defence and the European integration of North Macedonia. The conversation took place at the initiative of the American side, the Bulgarian Presidency states.

Antony Blinken expressed expectations that the process of North Macedonia’s European integration will be speeded up. The two sides agreed that this is in the interest of stability and security in the region, but also in Europe. President Radev laid emphasis on this country’s consistent support for North Macedonia’s membership and called for attaining sustainable and irreversible results in building good neighbour relations.
