The Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church is expecting to receive clear guidelines from this country’s Police and the National Operational Headquarters for Combating Covid-19 regarding the church services during the forthcoming Palm Sunday and Easter.
The church expects that the authorities’ decisions will establish a simplified regime for visiting the churches and that there will be no crowds in the temples.
"Everything depends on the decisions of the Police and the National Operational Headquarters. If we receive a permission, we will hand out willow twigs to visitors on Palm Sunday. We are expecting guidelines," the Head of Public Relations at the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church Nikolay Georgiev told dnevnik.bg.
