SANS reports there is no evidence of terrorist activity in Bulgaria

The State Agency for National Security - SANS has successfully counteracted Russian intelligence activities in Bulgaria in 2019. In its annual report, SANS considers as a serious success the interception of intelligence activities of Russian diplomats and the ban on entry of Gen. Leonid Reshetnikov and businessman Konstantin Malofeev for a period of 10 years.

SANS has no information about terrorist activity in Bulgaria, about planned attacks on Bulgarian citizens and interests abroad or about creating of terrorist structures in this country. SANS assesses risk to public order from the activities of extreme right and left structures as low. 86 pre-trial proceedings and inspections over violations against the country's financial system have also been reported, as defendants are 71.
