The caretaker government has fulfilled its main task successfully – organizing fair and transparent elections for National Assembly and for European Parliament. All activities were transparent and within the deadlines set, the caretaker cabinet with PM Dimitar Glavchev says in its report on its work it took office on 9 April.
The caretaker cabinet has speeded up the construction of the National Children’s Hospital, the report says. The first successful air ambulance missions have been carried out successfully. In education, salaries in universities have been raised. Pensions have been raised by 11%. In agriculture, the funding known as “Ukrainian assistance” has been paid out. Funding for hail prevention has also been sought.
In the sphere of energy, the construction has begun of the Vertical Gas Corridor from Greece to Romania. One of the reactors of NPP Kozloduy started functioning using American fuel. The construction of Struma motorway across the Kresna Gorge has been unblocked. Tenders have successfully been held for new trains and for renovated railway carriages. The modernization has begun of Danube Bridge in Rouse and the border checkpoints on the border with Turkey. The rise in the price of electricity has been minimized, the cabinet says. Efforts continue towards the country’s entry into the Eurozone. In the sphere of security and defence a number of police stations have been restored, reads the report released by the caretaker government’s press service.
