The National Assembly Budget and Finance Committee has adopted on first reading the draft bill of MP Valeri Simeonov from the National Front for the Salvation of Bulgaria, which allows only the state to offer lottery games. The private lottery companies attracted attention after it became clear that they pay a 20% tax on the margin between the collected bets and the winnings paid. According to the law, these companies should pay a 15% tax on all collected bets. Thus, the private lottery operators pay lower amounts in taxes, which cause damages to the state treasury.
