The specialized court has decided to leave businessman Minyu Staykov, owner of a large alcohol business, in the arrest. He has been accused of having run and participated in an organized criminal group of eight people producing cigarettes without excise labels, as well as of tax fraud, money laundering and misappropriation of EU funds. According to the Prosecutor's Office, Staykov illegally received 2.5 million euros under two programs. It is currently being investigated whether employees of the "Agriculture" State Fund took part in the fraud, which planned to drain over 9 million euro from EU funds.
