“Popularizing cultural and historical tourism and interaction with local communities for presenting Bulgaria’s enormous heritage in recent years has boosted this kind of tourism considerably, demonstrating its growing importance as a source of sustainable development,” said Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova at the 3rd UN World Tourism Organization/UNESCO World Conference on Tourism and Culture in Istanbul.
She added that more than 40,000 artefacts have been found in Bulgaria. Work is underway on various thematic routes - cultural, historical, wine and SPA.
