Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov held talks with Macedonia’s Prime Minister Zoran Zaev in Blagoebgrad, where the two took part in the joint celebration of the 115th anniversary of the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie uprising.
Boyko Borissov said he welcomed the new spirit of cooperation that has found a lasting place in the relations between Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia, after the signing of the Friendship, Cooperation and Good Neighbour Agreement between the two countries. In the words of the Bulgarian PM, we are already seeing the positive effects in trade and tourism between the two countries. During their meeting the two also discussed ways to improve the functioning of the border checkpoints between Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia and the opening of new ones. “The hand stretched out by Bulgaria came at the most important moment for Macedonia,” said on his part Zoran Zaev.
