A lead seal of a type not previously discovered in Bulgaria has been discovered by archaeologists working at the medieval fortress of Lyutitsa near Ivaylovgrad.
The image of Byzantine Empress Irene is on one side of the seal, while the other shows - the Virgin Mary and Jesus.
