Bulgaria’s exports to EU increase, trade balance remains negative

Between January and November 2016 Bulgaria’s exports increased with 6.8% year on year to EUR 14.8 billion, the National Statistical Institute informs. 64% of the country’s exports were directed to Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece and France. Meanwhile, imports from the EU increased with 1.9% to EUR 15.8 billion. Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece and Poland were the biggest EU exporters to Bulgaria. Bulgaria’s trade balance with the European Union remained negative to the tune of EUR 1.1 billion.
