Bulgaria takes preventive measures against spread of influenza

Photo: library

Bulgaria’s Ministry of Health announced that flu outbreaks have been covering larger territories of the country in the recent days. On Tuesday the local authorities in Montana, Stara Zagora and Ruse districts announced that influenza reached epidemic level. On Wednesday flu is expected to reach epidemic levels in two other Bulgarian districts-Pazardzhik and Blagoevgrad. Bulgaria’s Ministry of Education and Science announced that the school holiday will be extended until January 6. Bulgaria’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food banned hunting and resettlement of wildfowl on the whole territory of Bulgaria. The measure was taken due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation, the necessity of more effective prevention against influenza and the meteorological forecasts about heavy snowfalls and freezing temperatures in all Bulgarian districts.
