From July to September alone, there were 277 accidents involving electric scooters. Seven people have died, Chief Inspector Lachezar Bliznakov from the "Traffic Police" told Nova TV.
The number of accidents has nearly tripled. That is why it is necessary to strengthen control over e-scooter drivers, Lachezar Bliznakov pointed out. He noted that about one-third of serious accidents involve pedestrians. Bliznakov explained that e-scooters are prohibited in parks and are meant to use cycling infrastructure.
