Renowned Bulgarian zoologist and climber Boyan Petrov and environmentalist Andrey Kovachev had successful operations and are in stable condition now, it was reported. The two were injured on Tuesday when they were hit by a speeding car while working on an environmental project in the Kresna Gorge, Southern Bulgaria. After the incident Boyan Petrov was placed in medically-induced coma. Petrov, who is diabetic and has successfully fought oncological diseases, is the climber with the biggest number of climbed peaks over 8000 meters - a total of 8. Doctors say chances for recovery of both injured are very good.
