"I believe that working together and with the will of the EU and Turkey, we could find a solution to the current migration crisis," Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said during his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two met in the Dolmabahçe Palace in the framework of the official visit of Prime Minister Borissov to Istanbul.

According to the Bulgarian Prime Minister, extremely difficult months of negotiations in search of the right decisions were coming. "I am convinced that Europe and Turkey would provide greater stability for the region when working together," Borissov said. An approach when each country looks for local solutions is incorrect and contrary to European principles, PM Borissov added. During the meeting, the Bulgarian Prime Minister informed the Turkish President about the actions of Bulgaria after the decision of the Arbitration Court in Geneva related to the canceled project for the Belene NPP, under which now Bulgaria must pay some 620 million euro to the Russian contractor.

Borissov and Erdogan also discussed major energy projects that could be implemented in the future.
