The Symphonic Orchestra of the BNR closes its concert season on June 9 at the Bulgaria Hall downtown Sofia. The evening is devoted to young talents of Bulgaria – the students of the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music in the capital city. Not few of them play with the orchestra’s formation. Conductor Rosen Gergov, who will lead the program, says he always conducts such concerts with pleasure. He has graduated the same school with the piano class of Milka Miteva. The soloists of the concert have been selected after an audition. Tsonyo Tsvetkov, drums, is among them.

The 9 young virtuosos who will have a chance to play with the SO of the BNR are among the most distinguished instrumentalists with lots of awards won over the past years. We will listen to Mila Tsankova – flute, Kiril Mihaylov – slide-trombone, Keti Marinova – horn, Fidosi Kerchev – piano, Ilina Ilieva – viola, Momchil Pandev – cello and others.Ballad, op. 25 by Karl Davydov.

Kay Gergov, the youngest participant is barely 6 years old and a son of Rosen Gergov. Kay has just entered the National School of Music. “He does have the music gift and plays everything very easily – that was why I decided it would be a good idea to present him at this concert,” Mr. Gergov says. This will be the premiere of the Bulgaria Hall for the young violinist. 17-year-old Yoanna Ruseva sees it as another performance on this stage. The girl’s violin skills have brought some 15 awards from international contests so far – Kocian, Nedyalka Simeonova, Young Virtuosos. She was also among the finalists of the Oistrakh contest in 2014.
