“The problem with the second gas interconnector between Greece and Bulgaria is the unfinished construction work. We are expecting a day-to-day timetable of performance of the works from the builder,” caretaker Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Shishkov said in an interview with bTV.
“The interconnector with Greece might not be made operational by 1 November,” said on his part Bulgargaz CEO Lyudmil Yotsov during a meeting with the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission. Yotsov rejected the sharp criticism by the head of the energy watchdog Ivan Ivanov that the price projections must be announced on time. Because of the delay for August, the definitive price rise request will only become clear on the 12th of the month. As their justification, the Bulgargaz representatives cited the fact that after Gazprom halted gas to Bulgaria, the full amount of gas deliveries is only negotiated in the last 20 days of the current month.
