A riot erupted at the Harmalni refugee centre as over 2,000 migrants collided directly with police and gendarmerie force. The unrest is due to the preventive closure of the centre and the ban imposed on its leaving by those accommodated inside. The migrants have set on fire some of the facilities. Hundreds of gendarmerie, police and firefighting officers are on the spot and those have surrounded the camp. A water cannon has been provided as well.
Negotiations are ongoing on the spot and the arrival of the State Agency for Refugees’ chair is expected. At the same time MPs from the United Patriots Coalition /Patriotic Front, Ataka/ demanded the extradition of the migrants who had showed discontent.
