Military units of the Land Forces will welcome visitors on the occasion of May 6 - the Day of Valour and the Day of the Bulgarian Army, the Ministry of Defence announced.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see exhibitions of weapons, military vehicles and equipment, and to view museum exhibits. Young people interested in a military career will be able to learn more about opportunities in the land forces.

Today, open days are being held at the 61st Stryamska Mechanised Brigade in Karlovo and Kazanlak, and at Land Forces units in Pleven and Shumen. In the coming days, the public will also be able to visit the 51st Engineer Regiment in Belene, the 101st Alpine Regiment in Smolyan, the 3rd Brigade Headquarters in Blagoevgrad and Vratsa, and the 4th Artillery Regiment in Asenovgrad.

On the Day of Valour, the battle flags of the Bulgarian Army are traditionally blessed in a special ceremony. The holiday was first celebrated on 6 May 1880 by decree of Prince Alexander I.
