President Rumen Radev will today attend the opening ceremony of Forest Week in front of St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. The theme of this year's celebrations is "A century of eternal creation, preservation and care!"

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the first celebration of Forest Week. Since 1925, the College of Foresters has marked its professional holiday with festivities during the first week of April.

Forest Week events began throughout the country in March. Reforestation campaigns, the renovation of monuments, the preservation of important historical sites and the celebration of personalities who have contributed to the development of forestry are some of the initiatives.
