Photo exhibition tells about the lives of homeless dogs

Photo: sofia.bg

The photo exhibition "One Hand Extended. Yours" draws attention to the plight of abandoned dogs in Sofia and encourages citizens to adopt a pet. The initiative is led by the Sofia-based municipal enterprise "Ecoravnovesie" and the volunteer association "1500 Dog Gang". The photo exhibition, which can be viewed from April 1 to 14 at the Lovers' Bridge near the National Palace of Culture, presents 60 panels with photographs and touching texts that tell about life in the municipal shelters in Seslavtsi and Gorni Bogrov, the reasons why the dogs end up there, and what each person can do to reduce the number of abandoned animals.

The photographs are by Denis Buchel, born in Chișinau, Moldova, who has been captivating the public for years with stunning, vivid images that capture important moments from the world around us. The text accompanying the photos was written by Maria Peeva (known to the Bulgarian public as Mama Ninja) and the team from the Sofia Municipality.

The exhibition will be officially opened at 10:00 am on April 4, when the World Stray Animal Day will be marked.
