The outrage and public discontent caused by the shocking revelations of brutal animal abuse and killings in Pernik continue. On this occasion, protests were organized today in over 20 Bulgarian cities demanding the strictest and most adequate punishments for the defendants Gabriela and Krasimir. The two sent videos of animal abuse and torture to guarantors with perverted sexual inclinations abroad. For each video, the perpetrators had a separate scenario and tortured the victims in a particularly cruel and brutal way.

Protesters across the country demanded a countermeasure against animal abuse at all levels, including in municipal shelters, with legal changes, as well as increased control over online platforms that distribute materials with similar content.

In addition to harsh sentences, people demanded the creation of specialized units to investigate animal abuse, as well as stricter control over pet owners.
