A concert featuring world-renowned Bulgarian violinist, concertmaster and professor Borislava Ilcheva and the Havana Symphony Orchestra Lyceum Mozartiano, conducted by maestro José Antonio Méndez Padrón, took place at Havana Cathedral. The event was organised to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8, the Bulgarian Mission in Havana reported.
An audience of more than 1,000 people, including diplomats and art lovers from Cuba, Bulgaria and other countries, applauded enthusiastically Borislava Ilcheva, who, despite health problems, gave a brilliant performance of works by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius (1865-1957).
