Velichie party hold protest in front of GERB leader Borissov’s house in Bankya

On the evening of March 11, the Velichye party held a protest rally from the center of Sofia to the house of GERB party leader Boyko Borisov in Bankya. The protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the counting of votes in the parliamentary elections for the 51st National Assembly and the party’s remaining out of parliament.
A group of Borisov’s supporters also gathered near the house where the protest ended.

The destruction of institutions and the instillation of hatred among Bulgarians began on the day GERB put Bulgaria in the waiting room of the Eurozone and the European Banking Union in the summer of 2020. This is stated in a position statement of the GERB Parliamentary Group, published on social networks after the Velichie party protest.

"Now our country is on its way to entering the Eurozone, despite the recent years of chaos and timelessness. 5 years later, when GERB is once again taking all the necessary steps for Bulgaria to fulfill the strategic goal of being in the Eurozone and having a regular government, another series of demonstrations are initiated in front of our leader's home, sabotaging the adoption of the 2025 budget, a war breaks out between Bulgarian institutions, public unrest is being staged and fake news factories are spewing comments about coups and revolutions," the position further reads.
