On 6 March, the fourth designated day of boycotting retail chain stores in Bulgaria, they registered a higher turnover, National Revenue Agency data show. Their turnover amounted to a little over 29 million Leva /EUR 14.83 million/. By way of comparison, a day earlier it amounted to 25.5 million Leva /EUR 13.04 million/. On the third day of boycott, 27 February, an increase in turnover was registered amounting to 2.1 million Leva /EUR 1.07 million/. On the first and the second day of boycott there was a drop in turnover – which was higher on the first day by almost 29%.

A few days ago, the organizations behind the boycott urged the public to boycott foreign hypermarkets every Thursday until the price of the staple products they sell are aligned with the prices in Austria and Germany where the parent companies of these chain stores are based, and where incomes are double incomes in Bulgaria.
