Cold weather expected on Wednesday, temperatures continue to drop

On Wednesday, the lowest temperatures will range between minus 8°C and minus 3°C, for Sofia around minus 7°C. During the day, snow showers in the northeastern regions will begin to stop, but in southeastern Bulgaria it will still snow in many places. Moderate and temporarily strong northerly and northeasterly winds will continue to blow in the eastern parts of the country. During the second half of the day, cloud cover in the western and central areas will decrease. Maximum temperatures will range from minus 3°C to 2°C, around minus 1°C in the capital city.

In the mountains, the cloud cover will still be significant before noon. It will snow in the central and eastern parts of the Balkan Mountains, the Eastern Rhodopes and Strandzha. After noon, the cloud cover in the western massifs will significantly break up and decrease. There will be a moderate northerly and northeasterly winds. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 m will be minus 4°C, at 2,000 around minus 10°C.

Along the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy with rain and snow. Daytime highs will range between 0°C and 4°C. The sea water temperature is around 6°C. Sea state 3-4.

On Thursday, there will be winter sunshine. In some places in the Danubean Plain, there will be conditions for fog or low clouds. It will be cold. In most parts of the country, the lowest temperatures will range from minus 12°C to minus 7°C, in some areas up to minus 16°C. The maximum temperatures will range from minus 4°C to 1°C, in the Upper Thracian Plain and the southwesternmost areas up to 4°C.
