Veteran Slovenian snowboarder Žan Košir won the men's parallel giant slalom in Val St. Come, Canada, after defeating Austrian Benjamin Karl in the final. Third place went to Bulgaria's Radoslav Yankov, who edged out Italy's Daniele Bagozza in the small final to secure a podium finish. Yankov's run was cut short in the semi-finals, where he was beaten by Košir.

The 35-year-old snowboarder from the Bulgarian mountain town of Chepelare had previously eliminated Canada's Arnaud Gaudet and Germany's Elias Huber in the main draw. Prior to that, he had cruised through the qualifying rounds without breaking a sweat.

Leading the overall Globe standings in Parallel Slalom and Parallel Giant Slalom is Italy's Maurizio Bormolini with 650 points ahead of Austria's Andreas Promegger with 563 points. Radoslav Yankov is in 3rd place with 514 points, followed by Benjamin Karl with 498 points.
