Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev met with North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski during the Munich Security Conference. Georg Georgiev emphasized that Bulgaria's position regarding the European integration of North Macedonia is clear and consistent.

"The European compromise of 2022 includes a set of measures, and their full implementation is the only way forward. The inclusion of Bulgarians, alongside other nations, in the constitution of North Macedonia is just the first step, the realization of which will allow Skopje to begin membership negotiations", said Minister Georgiev. He was adamant that renegotiating or circumventing the agreements, which have the full backing of the EU, is not possible.
