February 16, 2025 marks the 127th anniversary of the first bulletin of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, signed by its first director Oscar Iskander. The agency was established in 1898 by a decree of Prince Ferdinand I. Just like 127 years ago, today the agency processes, stores and disseminates information domestically and abroad about political, economic, social, cultural, scientific and sporting events.
On the occasion of its anniversary, BTA will unveil a new space for its archives on February 16. On the same day, the BTA font will also be unveiled. “With it, we will try to present everything that comes out of Bulgaria's national news agency into a single vision”, the agency’s Director Kiril Valchev said. In his words, after February 16 the font will be free to use by all Bulgarian institutions. ''It is developed by the National Academy of Arts and based on the tradition of Cyril and Methodius' students", explained Kiril Valchev.
Happy anniversary, BTA!
