Deepening the strategic partnership between the United States and Bulgaria should be a top priority for bilateral cooperation between our new administrations, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov told US Vice President J.D. Vance, with whom he had a brief meeting on the sidelines of the Artificial Intelligence Summit in Paris.

Mr Zhelyazkov told Mr Vance that areas where the two countries could deepen cooperation included defence and new technologies. As an example, he pointed to the Bulgarian institute INSAIT, which is developing a range of new technologies for global companies such as Google and Amazon.

In Paris, Zhelyazkov presented Bulgaria's experience in artificial intelligence, including the role of INSAIT, the Bulgarian language model BgGPT and the first platform for testing generative AI models for compliance with the European Artificial Intelligence Act.
