The parliamentary group of DPS-Democracy, Rights and Freedoms, affiliated with Ahmed Dogan declared they were categorically opposed to the appointment of Lyudmila Petkova to the post of director of the Public Financial Inspection Agency (PFIA), stating that the appointment had not been discussed at the Joint Governance Council so the decision can be made by consensus, as the parliamentary majority agreement stipulates.
“What is even more worrying,” the DPS-Democracy, Rights and Freedoms states in a press release, “is that the aim is to turn the Public Financial Inspection Agency into one more repressive structure in the hands of Delyan Peevski via his assignee Lyudmila Petkova. The mission is obvious – to use the institution as a bludgeon for exerting pressure on the inconvenient.”
DPS-Democracy, Rights and Freedoms is demanding that Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova withdraw the appointment of Lyudmila Petkova at once, and strictly abide by the parliamentary majority agreement so as to guarantee the stability and efficiency of governance.
